RGB

RGB IS CLOSING.

I’m making a new blog, connected to my personal tumblr account. It will have a different name, but it will still be about knitting, yarnbombing, and the fiber arts. It will be open for submissions, and with the free time I have coming up, I hope to be much more active than I have been with RGB.

There’s a spot on UVM campus that could really do with this.

photo My family was in NYC this weekend and came across this lovely crocheted shopping cart! (Sorry for pic quality, it was taken on a cell phone).
I’m really excited because I think I recognize the style of the artist who did this: “Olek.”
Agata Oleksiak is a Polish guerilla knitter, who famously crocheted the Wall Street bull in pink about this time last year. I’m a huge fan of Olek, who lives in NYC, and I’m almost positive this is her.
Happy New Year, folks!

Part two of the Holiday Grafitti.

The deer (in the fountain on Church street next to the bears) is wearing a fashionable holiday scarf and some bells on his antlers for good measure.

Happy Holidays to everyone in Burlington!

The Holiday graffitti is up!!

The mother bear and her cub in the fountain at the bottom of Church street have new, comfy legwarmers. :)

this is so exciting! I’m finally knitting gloves which was my goal when bought this yarn and started knitting a year ago.  as you can see from the little bundles of yarn dangling from the glove i still have yet to sew in the ends but i’m all done knitting this first one. now to make the second. it should go faster since i kind of jotted down a pattern as i went along and i know where i made mistakes the first time.

the pattern is all my own because would you believe it, for all the internet out there, i couldn’t find a pattern for fingered gloves that i liked that used size 6 needles which is what i needed?  so i kind of looked at different videos online, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6ODA0nfIIE this one in particular being very helpful, and i looked at other patterns for ideas of how in the world to make increases and decreases in the right places. :P

the cabling detail i got the idea for from a sweater of mine which i love.  i basically looked at it and counted stitches and fumbled my way through it until i had it down so i could do it in my sleep. i love cabling; it offers so many possibilities and it’s really not hard at all.

let me know what you think! <3

I’m really impressed that these were done without a pattern— gloves are confusing even when you have directions to follow. Don’t they look warm? :)
